5 reasons why you should spend your holidays at our bed and breakfast

Why come to Domaine Le Castelet?

Why come to Le Castelet?

If we had to sum up in 5 points the reasons why you should spend your holidays at our guesthouse, this is what we’d say

1: A prime location

In the heart of Tarn, our manor house is a 5-minute drive from Castres town centre, noted for its houses along the river Agout and the garden designed by Lenôtre (the famous landscape gardener who also designed the gardens of Versailles).   Just 10 minutes from Le Castelet is the Sidobre with its dramatic rocky landscapes.

A little further on is Albi and its Episcopal City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. And an hour’s drive away, go back to the time of the Cathars amid the citadels of Carcassonne and Minerve.

2: Stay in an 18th-century château

Step into another world! Stay at an 18th-century château on a beautiful estate where we are dedicated to providing optimal comfort and relaxation for our guests...

Decorated by an interior decorator, and lovingly maintained, the château is surrounded by 8 hectares of wooded parkland, and will help you forget all about the dreariness of your everyday routine. Our 5 guest rooms and luxury cottages are a haven of peace and quiet - the ideal place to relax.

3: So much to do and see!

We know how to look after our guests at the chateau: we have 2 pools and a sauna. So if you’re after a lazy, relaxing holiday, look no further.

For those of you who prefer something a little more energetic, we have a fully-equipped 60-m² gym, complete with weight benches, elliptical cross trainer, Power Plate machine, etc. We can also lend you bikes, and table tennis fans can thrash it out at our table! Golfers, meanwhile, can play golf at the course of your choice in Castres, Mazamet or Albi. And to round off the day, relax on our massage table...

4: An idyllic setting

Nature-lovers will adore Tarn! The Sidobre, with its woodland trails and staggering balancing humus-covered boulders, the Black Mountain and the Haut-Languedoc nature park are natural havens with an abundance of animal and plant life. Explore the stunning hiking trails of the Black Mountain on foot, mountain bike or horseback, and linger in the beautiful Jardin des Martels botanical gardens, less than an hour’s drive away.

5: A rural paradise!

We take extra special care of the Castelet grounds: 8 hectares of three-hundred-year-old oaks, box-trees, plane trees, Judas trees, medlars and flowerbeds.

Our orchard and organic vegetable garden provide prime produce for our restaurant, whilst our busy little bees work hard to give us their delicious honey. When you arrive, greeted by bird-song, you’ll be glad you chose to spend your holidays at our guesthouse...

Make yourself at home!
